Our Work
We are committed to making the lives of the needy easier
We make it easy, quick, and safe to support people on the ground who understand needs in their communities better than anyone else.
RakShan Foundation puts donations and grants directly into their hands.
Our Causes
Providing healthcare
We educate and equip communities to stop the spread of life-threatening coronavirus, alongwith diseases like polio, HIV/AIDS, and malaria. We improve and expand access to low-cost and free health care in developing areas.
Growing local economies
We carry out service projects that enhance economic and community development and create opportunities for decent and productive work for young and old. We also strengthen local entrepreneurs
Supporting online education
We support the children that dropped out of school in this lockdown due to not being able to afford the online means. Our goal is to strengthen the capacity of communities to support basic education and reduce gender disparity in education.
The Impact of COVID-19
1.5 billion - children and youth out of school globally.
Over three billion rural workers lost their livelihood.
Lakhs of poor die of coronavirus without being diagnosed due to lack of healthcare facilities.
RakShan Foundation is not giving up on the lives of the world's most vulnerable people

Step towards making the world a better place
Formation of Women’s SHGs
We have aided in forming women’s groups in various communities. These groups have taken the form of Self Help Groups that have evolved into livelihood generators and as community based monitoring groups of early childhood care centres and the Right to Food (Public Distribution System) in communities.

Migrant Resource Centre
The centre provides various services and training programmes to informal workers employed in different forms of labour. The centre organises health camps, provides counselling and legal aid, and also aids workers in opening bank accounts and procuring legal documentations.

Educational instruction via radio broadcast
We are partnering with local radio stations to broadcast literacy activities. These broadcasts allow parents to support their children’s education at home. According to UNESCO, 75% of households globally have access to radio, so these broadcasts allow us to reach poor students in this pandemic.

Distance Mentoring Sessions
Social mobilizers conduct virtual mentoring sessions with participants in our Girls’ Education Program and check in with the girls’ families. These video chats and phone calls provide ongoing emotional support, while also monitoring risks that may lead a girl to drop out of school during this time.

We also organise free food drives for the homeless and poor people to provide them much needed nutrition in this COVID-19 era. For winters, we also arrange blanket distribution drive especially in Northern India.

Health camps
We also conduct regular health check up camps for homeless and underprivileged who find it difficult to reach to the hospital. In these camps, we provide free of cost COVID tests and medicines to the ones who cannot afford them.
